Integration and Parking Solutions
A crucial consideration for this project is the careful integration of the new building within the existing site, ensuring it harmonizes with its surroundings. The parking solution for the development is a key factor in this integration. Rather than disrupting the flow of the site, parking will primarily be accommodated along the facade of the existing school building. This placement reduces the visual impact of parking spaces on the overall layout and helps preserve green space for residents.
Outdoor Design & Architectural Harmony
Green Spaces and Outdoor Design
A key feature of the new residential complex is the thoughtfully designed green space on the south side, providing a tranquil outdoor environment for residents. This garden enhances quality of life and complements the building’s architecture by blending indoor and outdoor spaces. Additionally, a public meeting square on the northeast side will connect the new building with the existing structure. This vibrant hub fosters social interaction and community-building, creating opportunities for informal gatherings and reinforcing cohesion among residents.
Architectural Design and Materials
The architectural concept of the new building emphasizes openness and accessibility. It features an all-around design where each apartment includes a private outdoor space, like a balcony or terrace, enhancing residents’ living experience and connection to the environment.

A key design element is the wooden facade cladding, which provides a warm and inviting appearance, distinguishing it from traditional urban developments. This natural material softens the building’s impact on the urban landscape. Additionally, the gallery mirrors the design of the private outdoor spaces, promoting harmony and unity, contributing to an overall sense of balance and openness throughout the structure.

Compact but Complete Living Units
The residential building consists of fully self-contained living units (PMC-11), each with a carefully planned layout. Despite their compact size, these units are designed to maximize comfort and functionality. The inclusion of private outdoor spaces for each unit plays a key role in achieving this goal, offering residents additional living space that enhances the overall quality of life.

Each unit is carefully designed to cater to the needs of its residents, providing a sense of independence while fostering a connection to the surrounding community. The layout of each apartment prioritizes efficient use of space, ensuring that residents have everything they need within their homes, without sacrificing comfort or convenience.

Enhancing Social Sustainability and Community Engagement
To further promote social sustainability and community engagement within the building, we propose programming one or two of the apartments as communal spaces or neighborhood rooms. These shared spaces will be accessible to all residents and can serve as a venue for group activities, social events, or simply a place for neighbors to gather. These communal spaces will enhance the liveliness and sense of community within the development, creating opportunities for residents to build relationships and support networks.
